Experience Merano in spring and summer
Spend an active spring in Merano/Gratsch
The spa town of Merano is located in the micro-climate of the Adige basin south of the Alps. When the first warm rays of sunshine reach the Merano area, the orchards awaken to transform the valley into a sea of flowers, while the surrounding peaks of the Texel Group are still covered with a soft, white snow-cap.
Walking along the Waalwege
In spring the sun-drenched Waalwege (irrigation channel paths) lead through the beautiful blooming orchards and invite you to stroll and linger. Near our house (1 km) you will find the entrance to the Algunder Waalweg, which is especially recommended in the spring months between April and May.
The gardens of Schloss Trauttmansdorff
You shouldn’t miss the flowering splendour of the Botanical Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle, one of the most idyllic spots in South Tyrol. Follow the steps of Empress Sissi walking along the spa-promenade in Merano through the Sissi-path all the way to the botanical garden with its Touriseum (Museum for tourism).
